Thibaut Courtois
Thibaut Courtois currently stands firm at the top of the Premier League clean sheets table with a clear 5 clean sheets ahead of the next contender Fraser Forster. Chelsea have been in impeccable form this season and look to be heading for the Premier League title in which Thibaut Courtois has played a big role. Unless Chelsea concede in a lot of goals before the season ends Thaibaut looks to have his hands firmly on the Golden Glove for the first time. The last time a Chelsea goalkeeper won the award was when Petr Cech claimed the award back in 2013-14 and took the award for the third time.
Fraser Forster
Southampton’s number one and England senior goalkeeper Fraser Forster is having a tremendous season for Southampton but still falls short of Thiabut’s considerable lead. Despite this, England fans should be happy with the way the international has been performing for his club. If he carries on his impressive season more prominent clubs in England and abroad may come sniffing for the 28-year-old.
Hugo Lloris
Hugo Lloris who is often dubbed as one the of the Premier League’s best has yet again been putting in consistent performances for top four contender Tottenham Hotspurs who have put in some incredible display at home this season. Teams has struggled to play Spurs away and one of those reasons is their hard work and solid backline which starts with the French international. Ties with Fraser Forster it will take a mammoth comeback to challenge Courtois however, anything is possible.
Petr Cech
Cech is one of, if not the most consistent performers in the modern Premier League era. He has won the Golden Glove four times in his careers, three times with Chelsea and once with Arsenal last season. Cech is way off his former Chelsea counter-part Courtois and he may not have many seasons left in his locker to reclaim his Golden Glove award.
David De Gea
David De Gea who has put in another set of outstanding performances for Manchester United this season is also far off the pace for the Golden Glove award. Despite being one of, if not the most talented goalkeepers in the league the defence in front of him may have let him down this season. He’s currently 5 points off of Thibaut Courtois in terms of clean sheets. Despite this, De Gea will inevitably have many more chances to win the award for Manchester United who look to be improving under Jose Mourinho. Not only this but De Gea is only 26-years-old. If he decides to stay in the Premier League he easily has another 10 season left in him at the top level.
