Video: Bizarre own goal from Rogerio Ceni
August 17th, 2012
Goalkeeper Magazine’s favourite goalscoring goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni is the talk of the footballing world once again, but this time it isn’t for a 30-yard free-kick!
The 39-year-old had a somewhat embarrassing moment when he dashed out of his goal to punch clear a corner against Nautico in the Brazilian championship.
Rather than clear his lines, the Sau Paulo shot-stopper somehow managed to loop the ball high and backwards into his own goal, despite there being three defenders on the line.
The own goal, which came in the 61st minute, completed a miserable 3-0 defeat for the Brazilian side and Rogerio, who has just recently returned from a six-month injury lay-off.
The legendary goalkeeper has scored more than 100 goals from free-kicks and penalties in his career.
